ZWP 4168
Today my wife and I were almost involved in a major traffic accident. Returning from Raleigh to Wendell on Business 64 highway near the Mini Carolina Storage outside Wendell, an African American woman driving a car in the left lane parallel to us proceeded to journey into our lane. No turn signal or hand wave of any type. To give you an idea of how parallel we were, I could see everything in her back seat as well as the type of clothing she had on. The reason I took noticed of this vehicle was due to her driving skill I witness just moments earlier when she almost ran a red light in front of the Leif Auto Dealership. Luckily the other drivers as me were able to avoid hitting her.
As I maneuvered my van onto the shoulder of the road while applying the brakes I quickly blew the vans horn to no aveil. Even the cars behind us had already slowed down as these events were unfolding but she simply speeded off towards Wendell. With me driving right behind her. As we were driving through Wendell she decided to pull into Wendell Magnet school by way of an illegal left turn. Needless to say there was a long wait for her to make this turn due to the traffic of cars coming the other way and lining up to pick up the kids from school. Which is the reason there is no left turn made in this area?
As a parade of cars waited for this woman the sound of many car horns echoed throughout the area. The whole time my wife was trying to calm me down. I was majorly pissed off at a driver who didn’t seem to care how many cars she ran off the road or the traffic jam she created to get where she was going. So if you ever see a car with a North Carolina license plate with ZWP 4168 on it, stay clear.

Gackt - Ghost
This is one of my favorite songs by Gackt. It was used as the opening for the TV show 'Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles' in Asia. Translation located at the bottom.
Whispering that
Is a blasphemy against God that comes too late
Get Lost !!!
Cruel happenings will cure boredom
Be in anguish from the savage caress that enchants you
If you want to drown with your eyes open
Get lost out of my head
You've got to find the help of GOD
Until we're allowed be free...
In agony from the plugs that pierce my body
Stretch out your hand further, heal me violently
I said we got no guarantee
Embracing the mutilated corpse
Open your eyes further, break me violently
Until we're allowed be free...
In agony from the plugs that pierce my body
Stretch out your hand further, heal me violently

Taco Raisu
I had an Okinawan dish “taco raisu” last tonight. It was as I expected. If you have a craving for this dish, I offer the following original recipe for a reasonable facsimile:
- Go to your closest Taco Bell and order a Taco Supreme
- Take it home and prepare a plate of cooked white rice
- Scrape the fillings out of the Taco Supreme and onto the bed of rice
- Throw the taco shell away
- Add salsa and hot sauce to taste
- Enjoy

Drive-by screaming
We had our dinner show tonight. There was a white car periodically pulling into peoples driveways and parking off the side of the road driven by a very emotionally and vocal woman who was trying to get her son back into the car. She would pull into the driveway, get out of the car and scream for her son to get in the car followed by references to the Lord and several fainting spells, usually in the middle of the road, resulting in proclaiming that she was dying at the hands of an ungrateful son. Not to mention the cars squelching to a halt, trying not to hit this woman lying in the road.
This went on for our viewing area for almost 40 minutes but with one of the joys of living in the country side, away from the city, is the fact that everyone was on the phone retelling the story of this mother’s struggles as house by house everyone was watching this event taking place with an open understanding of the problems of raising a teenager, the concern for her safety and a phone in the hand dialing up the next house up the road so they could get a good seating for the afternoon traveling show while thanking their blessings it’s not their kids doing this to them.

Care Package
I just heard from a family in Japan we sent a care package to in Japan. They loved the Little Debbie cakes but more so they loved the rather large bag of Jelly Belly jelly beans. The family has been sharing the huge box of sweets with other family members to the point the kids are addicted to the Jelly Belly candies. The large tub of bubble gum is being used but the smell of the bubble gum is treated more as an air freshener. We also gave them some local newspapers and magazines which made the family very popular with neighbors and friends.
In time we may definitely send another care package even though it’s rather expensive with the shipping cost. The shipping cost for that care package was well over $125.00. Well worth it. We did get updates about the cleanup going on in their area and the more severe areas not too far from them. The roads are quickly fixed as the rubbed is removed for new buildings and homes are being constructed. Still a long way to go but everyone has a strong positive outlook of the situation.

New Police Speed Trap
While driving on Highway 540 between Raleigh and Knightdale, North Carolina I noticed the police are getting more creative on catching people speeding on the roads. While coming home I was driving 70 miles per hour in a 65 speed zone. As I was coming up to a car parked on the side of the road that looked broken down due to a white rag hanging out of the car window I notice the driver was still inside the car. Then I noticed a car driving very fast and passed me like I was standing still. Then from my rear view mirror, the car that was on the side of the road took off very fast followed by police lights and sirens.
The officer quickly pulled the speeding car over and as everyone was coming up to the scene at a much slower speed, everyone could easily see the rag connected to the car door. Over the next few days I noticed more of these vehicles parked off the side of the road with someone sitting in it. And for that matter, unmarked police cars with rags hanging from the window.
