We've Been Adopted

A week ago we were surprised when all of our cats came in the house at night that we had a guest as well. A young cat had joined the others for a nighttime feeding then bed. We figured that this cat belonged to one of our neighbors an expected it to head on home the next day.

A week later and this cat is still here. We named him Scaredy because he runs from us and anything that moves. Reminds me of Don Knotts nervous guy comedy skit back in the 1950's. He's starting to get more use to us now but to a certain point. As he has already bit me on one of my fingers and tore a whole in the screen door when the dryer was turned on. At least the other cats stopped hissing at him.

Giving kittens a bath is a lot of fun. That is until they get old enough to start clawing you arms to shreds trying to run away from you.

Hunt and Gather

One of our cats, Quail, has been learning from the older cats the art of hunting. Which meant bringing their catch inside the house to dine on.

Pest Control

One of the joys of having cats is that they will always be on guard for anything that will try to enter our home. Panda, one of our cats, caught a mole and proceeded to spend the whole day playing with his new chew toy.

Newborn Kittens

One of our cats had her litter on the 9th. Three little kittens were born under a storage of old kid toys and assorted items. When we finally found them we moved the entire family to a more better place. And for now we have three generations living with us now.

Feeding time

Our baby cat Vanilla, is a very loving cat. She has a very feminine attitude but she also has a darker side. For anyone who has read or seen Full Metal Alchemist will know of the character called Gluttony. Vanilla may be related to this character. When she eats, the other cats do not get near her for fear of an attacked by her.

Puss n Foot

Never try to break up a cat fight. Our 2 oldest cats, Taro and Chilly were fighting. I just casually moved my foot between them to separate them from each other. This has always worked in the past, until today. Taro latched on to my foot with both claws and proceeded to take a huge bite out of my foot. I will say that if I had a little more room to move around I would have dropped kick Taro across the house. But the way he had his fangs planted into my foot he wasn’t planning on leaving anytime soon.

I had to bang him up against the wall before he letted go. I them proceeded to recite all the curse words I could remember, although I did repeat a few, while scrambling to get a towel and an ice pack to stop the bleeding pouring out of 4 major teeth holes in my foot. A day after the swelling went down and the blood stopped I took this picture. On the plus side I can walk again. I was getting a little tired sitting in my reclining chair watching my DVD collection of Hogan’s Heroes and Deadliest Catch while my wife served pizza and soda to me. :)
