With all that has happened at Fort Hood the other day, our family prayers have gone out to those affected by the attack. More so after today. I was working a neighborhood food market grocery store in Holly Springs were the Assistant Manager refused to place an American flag when an employee commented on the tragedy at Fort Hood. Due to the fact she was afraid of offending any of the customers that come to the store. She informed the employee that many of the grocery shoppers who shop there are primarily liberals and Middle Easterners who are not very supportive of US patriotism towards the military. Her words, not mine.
Another close friend of ours who works at a major grocery store in Wendell has a family member who is located on the base. Her daughter was planning to spend the week visiting them but instead the whole family may go.
