Bandai Ain’t No Good At Writing Japanese

I couldn’t resist writing the title that way.

One would expect a Japanese company such as Bandai would have someone employed who could read and write Japanese.  But then again I could be wrong. During a routine shopping trip, we notice something was wrong with the Power Rangers Samurai toys. Toy products based on the Japanese Super Sentai series called Samurai Sentai Shinkengers.

I should point out now that my kids love watching the Japanese Sentai shows. We have already purchased all of the Shinkengers toys long before the TV show was Americanized. So comparing the Power Ranger Samurai toys sold in American stores to the Japanese toys makes it noticeably easily to see that the American toy line is extremely pathetic.

Looking at the disk for one of the toys we finally noticed that the image of the Japanese symbol was reversed. Looking at the correct symbols you can see that it is more than straight lines and dashes. Its calligraphy as the lines is thicker at one end and pointier at the other. These language symbols are created like works of art.

So looking at the correct way of drawing this kanji symbol for ‘shin’ you will eventually see that this Japanese toy company has made a Japanese toy product with the Japanese symbol of ‘shin’ printed backwards.

Shinkengers on Nick

article
The media company Saban has re-acquired the rights to the live-action special effects franchise Power Rangers from Walt Disney Company, and a new season will run on the Nickelodeon channel in the United
States in the first quarter of 2011. Power Rangers is loosely adapted from Toei's 35-year-long Super Sentai Series franchise of costumed heroes. The Saban Capital Group had established a new US$500-million company called Saban Brands, which is developing the 18th Power Rangers season as part of a multi-year deal with Nickelodeon. The Nicktoons digital channel spinoff will also show reruns of previous seasons.

A new season was created nearly every year between 1993's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and last year's Power Rangers: RPM, which ran on Disney's ABC. Disney had purchased the franchise in 2001, but decided not to place it underneath the Disney brand umbrella after focus group research showed that mothers disliked the violence. Disney has been shopping for a new owner for the franchise for more than a year.

Jyuzo Fuwa with Gackt - Ghost

I used the music video of Ghost from Gackt and took out all the scenes showing the Terminator sho and replaced it showing Jyuzo Fuwa from the Shinkenger TV show. Enjoy it until You Tube pulls it off for whatever reason.

Shinkenger Video's

I had some free time (wife and kids are sleeping, a few hours before being at work by 6 AM) so I made a few Shinkenger videos of Jyuzo and Dayu.

Samurai Sentai Shinkenger

I edited two shows to make a very quick interpretation of Shinken Pinks ability to cook.
